Sofia Airport Transfer with a Dog or Cat

From 66 EUR · 75–390 km · 24/7Book now

Your dog or cat can ride with you in our private car from Sofia Airport: the vehicle is yours alone and is priced per vehicle from our list, for example 66 EUR to Borovets (75 km, about 1 h 30 min), 95 EUR to Plovdiv (140 km, 1 h 30 min) or 95 EUR to Bansko (170 km, 2 h 15 min) in a sedan for up to 4 people. A long-base minivan (up to 6) or minibus (up to 8) gives a large crate more room. We work 24/7, there is no prepayment and the driver waits free of charge if your flight is late; just tell us about your pet when you book.

Going somewhere else in Bulgaria? The price for any other address is on request.

What does my pet need to fly from the UK to Bulgaria?

Bulgaria is in the EU, so dogs and cats from Great Britain need an animal health certificate from an official vet, issued no more than 10 days before you travel, plus a microchip and a rabies vaccination given at least 21 days before the trip. A pet passport issued in Great Britain is no longer accepted for EU travel. Rules change, so check the current guidance on GOV.UK (“Taking your pet dog, cat or ferret abroad”) and your airline’s own pet policy well before you book flights. We do not check documents; that happens at the border and with the airline.

Which vehicle should I book with a dog or cat?

  • Sedan / Estate: a cat or small dog in a carrier with one or two people and normal luggage.
  • Minivan, long base: a medium or large dog, a big airline crate, or a family plus a dog.
  • Minibus, long base: a group with one or more large crates.

The more precisely you describe the crate and the luggage, the better we can match the car. If in doubt, we will suggest the bigger vehicle rather than squeeze.

Where does the driver meet us at Sofia Airport?

In the arrivals hall. A pet flying in the hold can take longer to be handed over than your suitcases, so mention it when you book: the driver will expect it. Because we follow your flight, a late landing changes nothing for you, and waiting at the airport is free when the delay is caused by the flight. You receive the driver’s details on WhatsApp or Viber, and our call centre answers 24/7 on +359 897 227 771.

Can we stop on a long drive?

Yes. On the longer routes, such as Burgas (about 3 h 15 min) or Bansko (about 2 h 15 min), ask the driver for a break whenever your dog needs a walk. There are service areas along the Trakia motorway.

How do I pay?

On the day, in cash or by card; cash is accepted in euro and in pounds. There is no prepayment, and bank transfer is possible if you prefer to pay before you fly.
